Sphero Indis are a great way to get students into coding. The pre coded coloured squares give instructions to the Indi as to what to do when it is on the square. Students in Year 4 were given the task to test out the different colours so they could determine what they made the Indi do before then making their own path to test their research.
Students were highly engaged in the task and worked collaboratively in teams to guess, test and record their results. Students then started on some challenge cards from the kit to further test their investigations.There are further opportunities to develop the students coding skills and problem solving skills.
